Each adhesive is supplied solvent-free but can be diluted in a solvent for easier application. Single vs. Dual Component Adhesives
All PU adhesives use the same chemical reaction to cure, that being a reaction between an isocyanate and a polyol. Single component adhesives are 99% cured and require exposure to moisture to finalize the cure. Dual component adhesives require the user to mix the two components together prior to application. Both single and dual component adhesives offer flexibility, chemical resistance, and weather resistance when cured.
Since single component adhesives use water as a crosslinker, they may begin to cure in their respective storage container without proper storage. However, single component adhesives due not require any blending and are used like a traditional glue.
Dual component adhesives are easier to store, but they require mixing prior to application. It is important that the user follows the recommended ratios in the documentation to achieve a proper cure.

Dual component adhesives offer a more traditional polyurethane reaction, where the user will blend the isocyanate with the polyol to start the reaction. Dual component adhesives offer excellent tensile and tear strength as well as elongation properties. Bonding quality is excellent on a variety of substrates. Eteco, Inc’s dual component adhesives are each supplied as liquid but once mixed, the system becomes thixotropic, allowing for easy brushing or spreading on vertical walls.
